Well well well well! The Young Achievers Awards are Back, Bigger and Better!
The media launch was exactly a week ago at Serena Hotel here in Kampala. Personally it was a blessing to attend the launch which was hosted by Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU) and honored by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda and the Co Founder of the awards Awel Uwihanganye, former recipient, Hamphery Nabimanya is taking over the organization of the awards under his Organization RAHU.
I compiled a light weight list of a few friends I believe should/will be recognized by this award, here we go:
Aaron Musoke: needs no introduction when it comes to Social Media! He is the lead organizer of Social Media Day Uganda platform that recognizes best social media practices from all industries in Uganda, Founder and Marketing Director of Pallet-Ify a furniture company and Digital Content Manager at Blu Flamingo Digital Africa One of the leading Digital Agencies in Uganda. Last year Aaron and Colleagues from Blu Flamingo Digital Africa in partnership with Google educated and trained over 11,000 youths in digital marketing skills through the Digi Con Mini series around Kampala and plan on Educating and training thousands more this year! Aaron keeps trying his abilities day in day out and I’m sure he his destined for more than glory.
Margret Nanyombi: she is currently Number 39 in the Top 40 under 40, Organized a TEDx talk last October, VBKit creator has been to places in last 12 Month including the Tech capital of the world, Silicon Valley. Her VBKit (Vaginosis Bacteria Kit) application tests specifically for the most common vaginal infections women face.
Alexander Twino: A man with web site as I jokingly call him, is a junk of all trades, He runs web based businesses including an ONLY African Literature Library Turn The Page, Sweat Safaris, Hikes And Runs, Something Ugandan, Umoja Bridges and more! Alexander is Lawyer and ready to start his practice law side by side with all the other ventures. Alexander’s entrepreneur skills are something many people around. He will soon open up a law firm in Kenya this year.
Emmy Omonginn Is the Founder and Chief Editor at Uganda’s top gossip-youthful blog-website, CampusBee! Campus Bee is the go to bulletin for most campus going youth around Kampala. Its currently runs an online shop, Campus Bazaar. Emmy also Started Pearl Vibes a news website focusing on Uganda’s night life and social scene.
