4 Reasons to have yoghurt on your diet.

Yoghurt has plenty of healthy benefits, I’m sure you’ve heard  about most of them!

  1. Digestive Health. Yogurt is made by bacterial fermentation of milk, a process that may boost digestive health because it produces the samegood bacteria found in the gut. Plus, someyogurt contains additional good bacteria known as probiotics. The Probiotics in  yoghurt are effective in regulating the digestive system and decreasing gas, constipation and bloating.

2. Strong Bones: Some yoghurts contain vitamin D, Vitamin D are essential for reducing the risk of osteoporosis, a bone-weakening disease that often strikes postmenopausal women, leading to fractures.

Yoghurt is richer in calcium than milk,   415 milligrams of calcium in ⅛ounce of  Yoghurt compared to 293 milligrams found in a glass of milk. Vitamin D is needed for your body to absorb calcium, and yogurt can also be a good source of this nutrient because some yogurt is fortified with vitamin D.

3. Skin Care: Yogurt contains lactic acid, Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). AHAs are acids derived from foods, and, as it turns out a type of acid that’s safe to apply to our skin. Yoghurt gently exfoliates the top layers of the epidermis, which can clear up blemishes and discolorations. Say hello to a well toned skin complexion, smooth and without signs of aging.

  1. Reproductive Health: Candida or “yeast” vaginal infections are a common problem for women with diabetes.

In a small study, seven diabetic women with chronic candidal vaginitis consumed 6 ounces of frozen aspartame-sweetened yogurt per day (with or without active cultures). Even though most of the women had poor blood sugar control throughout the study, the vaginal pH (measure of acidity or basicity) of the group eating yogurt with active cultures dropped from 6.0 to 4.0 (normal pH is 4.0-4.5). These women also reported a decrease in candida infections. The women eating the yogurt without active cultures remained at pH 6.0.

According to a study by MIT, male rodents that ate  yoghurt grew larger testacles and inseminated they partners faster and produced more offspring. The female rodents that ate the yogurt diets gave birth to larger litters and weaned those pups with greater success. The probiotic microbes in the yogurt help to make the animals leaner and healthier, which indirectly improves sexual machismo.
